Effects of shading and fertilizer treatments on the growth characteristics of <i>Chamaecyparis obtusa</i> (S. et Z.) Endlicher seedlings

Chamaecyparis obtusa is increasing the main reforestation species in warmer southern part of Republic Korea because its resistance to climate warming and economic value for timber. In this study, we investigated growth response 2-0 container seedlings combined artificial shading (full sunlight, 35%, 55%, 75%) fertilization (no fertilization, 0.5 g/L, 1.0 g/L 1.5 2.0 3.0 g/L) treatments. Seedlings treated with full sunlight condition showed highest height while root collar diameter. total dry weight those 35% Height/Root diameter ratio. addition, seedling quality index. general, treatment effects on characteristics were appreciably significantly different across conditions.
